We are confident that this year's search for the very best chefs will be exciting and in many ways ground breaking. The National Chef of the Year competition has been running since 1972 and winners have been established as some of this industry's most celebrated chefs, many with Michelin stars.
A number of changes have been made to this year's competition which reflect the diversity of today’s marketplace and cooking styles. For the first time, applicants will be able to enter under specific categories which reflect this diversity.
A team of highly experienced judges, with a well respected ambassador head judge for each category will scrutinise each menu submitted checking for authenticity at all levels.
Four regional semi finals will take place at selected colleges, each concentrating on one of the new categories.
The competition will culminate in a live final at London’s Restaurant Show on Monday the 11th of October 2010.
